The year 2022 has been great for public-oriented AI systems. After the NFT craze, AI-generated imagery took over the Internet in yet another swoosh. So much so that there's now an abundance of AI media creators testing and striving for meaningful applications of the technology with varying results.
In a manner of curiosity, I had to give it a go, so here's an exploratory project in collaboration with Midjourney AI. A sort of visual essay, a sort of pseudo-documentary about trash life. This speculation of other life forms and different, probable times stems from the consumer's remorse I sometimes find myself in. As a citizen of the 21st century I am mindful of sustainability and yet bound to consume. I am aware of waste and pollution, yet bound to produce more of it.
